At Interserve (NZ), our approach to finance is shaped by principles of generosity, shared responsibility, and wise stewardship. We recognise that all we have comes from God and are committed to using these resources to support sustainable mission through long-term service.

Each Partner raises support based on a personalised budget, developed in consultation with the Interserve NZ Office and informed by location, family needs, and ministry context. These budgets are designed to cover a Partner’s full field term and Home Assignment, and include expected expenses such as allowances, travel, ministry costs, and contributions to the National and International Offices.

While each Partner is responsible for raising their support, donations to Interserve are owned and managed by Interserve NZ. They are disbursed in accordance with the approved budgets and Interserve’s policies. This ensures clear accountability, transparency, and consistency, while reducing the administrative burden on individual workers.

To safeguard against financial interruptions, Interserve maintains a Partner Support Reserve (PSR). This reserve provides short-term assistance when a Partner’s support temporarily falls below the required level, enabling them to remain focused on their ministry without disruption. The PSR is funded through end-of-term Partner surpluses and designated donations.

Donations made to Interserve NZ are used solely for their designated purpose—supporting the work of our Partners and Home Staff in New Zealand and overseas. In line with IRD regulations, donations towards overseas work are not tax deductible; donations towards our New Zealand-based Partners are 100% tax deductible; and donations towards our Office staff and Office expenses are only eligible for a partial end-of-year tax rebate. In cases where a designated purpose is oversubscribed, funds will be utilised for a similar purpose.

Donations towards Partner Support are not diverted to our Office expenses. Please consider making a small donation towards our general expenses.

Interserve’s financial system is designed to ensure that mission is sustainable, transparent, and accountable. We walk alongside our Partners not only in prayer and practical support, but by maintaining a financial structure that enables long-term service and faithful participation in God’s mission.
